Our History
 | ASTE (Al-Shatta for Technical Engineering) enjoys over two decades of growth and experience in technical engineering. Today ASTE is a prominent player in the Syrian market as an Energy, Healthcare, and Industry solutions provider.
ASTE was established in 1988 by the late Moheden Al-Shatta to represent, promote, and expand all the business interests of Siemens AG in Syria. Headquartered in Damascus, ASTE was the General Manager of SIEMENS AG, Damascus Branch for 18 years. In 2007 ASTE was revamped and restructured, becoming an independent company with effective functional departments that work in synergy under the same vision. |
| Over the years, we have been working to bridge communities and improve the quality of life in Syria, through developing infrastructure and providing healthcare and industrial solutions. One of our first major contracts in Syria was with the Syrian Telecommunications Establishment (STE) to upgrade and expand the Fixed Telephone System (landlines) infrastructure in Damascus. The next milestone was introducing Siemens Healthcare solutions offerings into the country, to provide better healthcare and monitoring through Siemens' renowned medical equipment. We are the first national company to take on two of Syria's largest turnkey projects: the Dier Ali 750MW Combined Cycle Power Plant and the Syrian Railways Signaling & Communications Project. We continue to develop our business model and our teams to provide better services to our clients. |
